In the beginning were the Earth Elementals, descended from the Etruscan deities themselves.

The Fauni, Silvani and Aguane

Male Fauni guarded the animals.

Female Silvani protected the fields and forests.

Female Aguane defended the streams and rivers.

From them came all others.

Callicantzario: trooping faeries, small, skinny and always nude; partially or totally blind; identify yourself as a friend and offer them pork, their favorite food; associated element is earth.

Candelas: typically appear as a grouping of tiny flickering lights, almost like fire flies, seen just after sundown; associated element is earth.

Folletta: winged female; thought to be mischievous

 

 

 

 

 

Fouchi Fatui: often seen in cemeteries or swamps as drifting spheres of light; lost souls of the dead

Gianes: female wood elves; master cloth weavers who occasionally aid humans; divination is their talent and they scrying into their spinning wheels, resemble humans but for their pointed ears and green-tinted hair

Incubi: herd spirits

Lauru: sprites, only two feet tall, black eyes and black curly hair

Linchetti: night elves; said to cause nightmares and odd noises; resemble humans except for their pointed ears

Masseroil: gnome-like spirits associated with caves and tunnels

Monachetti: male imps who inhabit and guard wine cellars; have merry personalities and like to steal human clothing for sport

Orcuili: dwarves with a mean disposition; master shape changers; nasty smell

Orchi: giants with a mean disposition; live on clouds, descend to earth for food

Querciola: female spirit of the senses; pointed ears and the outline of wings on their backs though they don’t have wings; offspring of a folletta and a linchetto; inspire lust among men; draw energy from sex; element is fire.

Salbinelli: the torso of a man, the lower body of a goat and small black horns on their heads, only reach about 4 feet in height
